The farms of “Souhoul Al-Ola Establishment for the Marketing of Agricultural Production” are constantly developing and keep pace with the latest agricultural technologies to become one of the largest competitors in the region and internationally. The company specializes in growing vegetables and fruits; marketing agricultural production; trade agricultural supplies and seeds; import-export; packing and packaging vegetables and fruit; and agricultural education and training. The farms, covering 1310 dunums, are in the village of Sabha, near the city of Mafraq, in northern Jordan, 88 km from the capital, Amman. The area is excellent for cultivation with large-scale production.

Investment Thesis

In 2020, the company initiated and successfully executed an alternative energy project that significantly reduced the annual costs associated with traditional energy. In 2021/2022, they established a fruit and vegetable cooling and packing center, which was further expanded in 2023. This center helps prevent spoilage during transport, creates a competitive product for the export market, generates new job opportunities for refugees, and supports local farmers by enhancing the quality and value of their products through access to previously unavailable facilities and services. This project spans approximately 20,000 square meters in Sabha, strategically located near local farms and the Za’atari refugee camp.

Souhoul Al Ola plays a crucial role in the local economy by providing jobs to a significant number of refugees. The company’s initiatives not only support refugees through direct employment but also enhance their skills and economic stability. The expansion of production and packaging capabilities will further increase job opportunities and improve the livelihoods of refugees in the region.

  • Current Workforce: Employs 300-500 Syrian refugees as farmers yearly. The packaging/cold storage facility employs 100 people, including around 70 refugees.
  • Future Potential: The planned expansion projects are expected to generate employment for 438 people, with 90% being Syrian refugees.
