About the Lens
The “Anti-Trafficking Lens,” developed by ATIN, is an investing framework to qualify and track investments over time and to respond to the question: “What investments influence the fight against trafficking?” This tool provides investors with a lens to assess and qualify prospective and historical deals as anti-trafficking investments. It provides the “how” for those committed to the “why”.
Building the field of Anti-Trafficking Lens Investing by connecting investors to anti-trafficking ventures, and supporting policy and narrative change in the three areas of anti-trafficking:
- Building a Safe Internet for our Children
- Anti-Sex Trafficking
- Anti-Labor Trafficking
Pilot Project
Pilot lead by Evidencity
Mapping slaves in the Democratic Republic of Congo to the S&P 500 companies that buy the metals they are enslaved to mine. Our goals include:
- Grow awareness of labor trafficking in public market supply chains.
- Start a conversation about how many slaves are working for each S&P 500 company and consumer.
- Collaborate to achieve long-term supply agreements with ethical miners. The market is used to paying more for ethically sourced diamonds to avoid “blood diamonds” and the market is used to paying more for bananas that are free of pesticides. We believe the market is ready to pay more for ethically sourced cell phones and EVs.
